How to rotate a video
Add your video
Open the editor in desktop Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Click Choose files, or drag your video into the editor. It appears on the timeline.
Turn it the right way up
Select the clip. Under Framing, click Rotate right or Rotate left, the two round arrow buttons. Each click turns the picture 90 degrees, so click twice for 180. Click Flip to mirror it left to right.
Pick the shape and export
A sideways phone video becomes tall once it is upright. To fill the frame with it, choose 9:16 ยท Shorts / TikTok in the format menu under the preview. In 16:9 it shows with space on both sides. Click Export and choose 720p or 1080p. The new file has no watermark; your original stays unchanged.
Upside down or mirrored?
For an upside-down video, rotate it twice. Flip mirrors the picture left to right, which helps when text in a selfie video reads backwards. To mirror it top to bottom, rotate twice and click Flip. Reset puts rotation, flip, zoom and framing back to how they started.
Rotate only part of a video
Rotation applies to a whole clip. If the phone turned partway through, split the clip at that moment, select the sideways piece and rotate only that one. Each piece keeps its own rotation.
Export creates a newly encoded video, so this is not a lossless rotation.
